Recently, when working with people on the deeper aspects of their health and healing I have observed many feel stuck. They’re not sure what to do or how to handle love, career, family, relationships or other.
This may be in reaction to past decision making gone bad or life’s challenges adding up until one day they feel overwhelmed or confused as to what to do next. A complacency or stagnation sets in.
As frustrating as this may seem it can also be subconscious defense mechanism we use to keep us safe. Think of it this way…one way to ensure we won’t be hurt again or won’t make that same mistake again is to not act at all. Before we know it this defense has become a habitual pattern ending in stagnation.
Here is my approach.
Life-stagnation is like a beautiful car parked in the garage. The car is safe and secure but not being seen or used. The good news is no wrong turns possible and the chances of getting “dinged” are low. The bad news is the beauty is being wasted. The potential road trip or ending destination will never be experienced.
In order to propel ourselves through this slump we need to get our car on the road…even if we aren’t sure of where we’re going. Too often we stay parked in the garage, waiting for a sign, when what is needed is a little blind faith and trust. Get your car out of the garage and get moving down the road. Make a decision for action. Yes, this can be a scary process but once the car gains some momentum the Holy Power we believe it is better able to steer us. Get the car on the road, give the Universe something to work with and trust that you will be steered in the right direction.
Here is the supportive flow I recommend to ward off stagnation:
1. Decide on the action you will take (even if you aren’t 100% sure it is correct).
2. Call on Spirit for support (Tell the Universe/God “This is what I am going to do!” and ask for guidance!)
3. Act and Trust (this may seem challenging because we may be moving in the wrong direction at first)
4. See what happens and follow the signs/guidance (see where it leads)
Other supportive measures are daily meditation, pranayama and yoga as they work to de-clutter our minds in order for us to see the light. I strongly suggest you joining my Emotional Detox program (registration end March 21st) in order to get the ball rolling. This program includes all of the above mentioned skills. An Ayurvedic consult can help us determine the best adaptogenic herbs for you as well. These herbs help us battle stress, fatigue and other issues while opening our mind to a higher power.
