Anyone out there feeling like 2014 got off to a shaky start?
Well…get out the party hats, demand a day off work and tell Times Square to reload cause things are about to change and that’s worth celebrating. This year, February 1st is the real start to the New Year! Woo hoo!
January was an interesting month and caused a lot of stress because it couldn’t act like it usually does. January’s positive, New Year’s momentum tried to make its normal push forward but couldn’t get going cause it slammed into two things:
1. Wrap Up: Many of us dealt with some pretty stressful issues in 2013 (e.g. money issues, relationship issues, etc.) and to keep it simple…we just weren’t done dealing with them yet. January tried real hard to start fresh but he just couldn’t. It wasn’t his fault. This stress from 2013 was pretty big stuff.
2. Shake Up: In order to have a good 2014 many of us had to shake things up a bit…and most people cringe at the sound of change. This means changes in relationships, careers, living situations and more.
February 2014 is about getting up off the ground and brushing off the dirt. In other words finishing up the last bits of this 2013 stress and starting fresh.
Many of you are already feeling better. Take time to review how far you’ve come in a year and give thanks for the lessons you’ve learned. Savor the present moment and enjoy the New Year momentum filling your sails and paving a way for a good year.
Children’s Corner
Keep in mind our children are going through this as well. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for comments or behaviors that give clues as to some internal stress going on. Give your kids opportunities to express themselves by offering choices. For example; drawing, talking, yoga, etc. For more ideas on how to make 2014 the best year ever for you and your kids sign up for my newsletter at TIPS FOR RADIANT LIVING
