Foods can be used medicinally.

How each food item affects your body depends on its nutritional components and energetic structure.

For example let’s look at ginger. It has a hot energy to it (place a small bit of raw ginger on the tongue to experience, then swallow the raw ginger to notice heating effect) and contains the enzyme zingibain. We can therefore deduce that ginger is a food worth using for digestive support (among other things). It will bring warmth to the fire of digestion as well as enzyme support to break down the food. All food can be looked at this way.

To keep things simple lets order all of the food categories by the impact they will have on your physiology. By “impact” I mean how great of an effect a food’s energetics will have on your physiology plus how quickly it will affect you. This information will be beneficial when making adjustments to what’s in your kitchen or beginning your own HOME PHARMACY.

If you are interested in beginning to use food medicinally keep it simple and start with SPICES. Here is why…

2. animal products
3. dairy
4. oils
5. sweeteners
6. nuts and seeds
7. legumes
8. vegetables
9. fruits
10. grains (least, slowest impact on the body)
